CA80 Analyzer Installation and Commissioning Overview

CA80AM Installation Steps
Mechanical Installation
The CA80AM is wall-mounted or floor-standing, and the installation surface must be flat and load-bearing enough. During installation, reserve maintenance space and avoid vibration and direct sunlight.
- Confirm that the installation location is close to the sampling point to reduce pipeline delay.
- Use a spirit level for calibration to ensure the analyzer verticality error is less than 2°.
- Fixing bolts must be equipped with lock washers to prevent loosening due to long-term vibration.
Electrical Wiring
Electrical wiring includes power supply, signal output, and relay output, and must be operated strictly according to the wiring diagram. It is recommended to use shielded cables and ensure reliable grounding.
- Disconnect the power supply and confirm there is no voltage before opening the terminal compartment.
- Connect the power cables (L, N, PE) according to the terminal markings.
- Connect the 4-20 mA analog output to the PLC or recorder.
- Connect the relay output as needed for alarms or control.
- Tighten the cable glands to ensure the protection rating.
CA80AM Commissioning and Parameter Settings
Initial Power-On and Self-Test
After power is turned on, the analyzer automatically performs a self-test, and the screen displays the startup progress. After the self-test passes, it enters the main measurement interface.
- Check whether there are alarm messages on the screen, such as "No sample" or "Reagent low".
- Confirm that the peristaltic pump and valve operation sounds are normal.
- Observe whether there are bubbles in the measuring cell, and vent if necessary.
Key Parameter Settings
Set parameters such as measuring range, unit, and alarm limits through the menu. It is recommended to adjust the range according to the actual sample concentration to avoid exceeding the limit.

Calibration and Verification
Initial commissioning requires zero-point calibration and slope calibration. Use standard solutions to verify measurement accuracy; the error should be less than ±5%.
- Enter the calibration menu and select "Zero-point calibration".
- Connect distilled water to the analyzer and wait for the reading to stabilize.
- After confirming the zero point, select "Slope calibration".
- Connect the standard solution, enter the standard value, and complete calibration.
- Verify with another concentration of standard solution and record the deviation.
Common Problems and Solutions
During commissioning, problems such as measurement value drift and excessively fast reagent consumption may be encountered. The following are common faults and solutions.
- Measurement value drift: Check the reagent expiration date and whether the pipeline leaks air, then recalibrate.
- Reagent consumption too fast: Check whether the pump tubing is aged and adjust the pump speed.
- No sample alarm: Check whether the sampling pipeline is blocked and whether the booster pump is working.
- Communication failure: Check the wiring polarity and baud rate settings.
