Detailed Maintenance Steps
1. Preparation
- Turn off the residual chlorine analyzer power and disconnect the sensor.
- Take out the required components from the maintenance kit: cleaning solution, electrolyte, membrane cap, calibration solution, etc.
- Prepare clean beakers, soft cloth, and gloves.
2. Electrode Cleaning
- Remove the electrode from the flow cell and rinse the surface with deionized water.
- Soak the electrode in the cleaning solution from the maintenance kit for 5-10 minutes.
- Gently wipe with a soft cloth, avoiding damage to the sensitive membrane.
- Rinse thoroughly with deionized water again.
3. Electrolyte and Membrane Cap Replacement
- Unscrew the old membrane cap and pour out the old electrolyte.
- Rinse the inside of the electrode with deionized water and let it dry.
- Inject new electrolyte to the specified mark, avoiding air bubbles.
- Install the new membrane cap, ensuring a leak-free seal.
4. Calibration
- Immerse the electrode in the calibration solution provided with the maintenance kit.
- Perform zero point and slope calibration according to the analyzer manual.
- After calibration, rinse the electrode with deionized water and reinstall it.
Precautions and Common Issues

- Maintenance operations should be performed in a dust-free, non-corrosive gas environment.
- Avoid direct hand contact with the membrane cap surface to prevent oil contamination.
- The electrolyte is irritating; please wear protective gloves and glasses.
- After maintenance, wait for the electrode to stabilize for 30 minutes before putting it into measurement.
Common Issues
- Slow response: Possible membrane cap contamination or electrolyte depletion; replacement is recommended.
- Reading drift: Check whether the membrane cap is damaged and recalibrate.
- Calibration failure: Confirm the calibration solution expiration date, clean the electrode, and retry.
