CA80NO Online Analyzer Overview
CA80NO is an online analyzer used for continuous measurement of ammonia nitrogen concentration in water, widely applied in wastewater treatment, drinking water monitoring, and industrial process control. It adopts the ammonia gas sensing electrode method, featuring a wide measurement range, fast response speed, and low maintenance. Based on the official Chinese manual, this article systematically summarizes its operation and maintenance points.

Measurement Principle and Main Technical Parameters
Measurement Principle
CA80NO adds alkali solution to the water sample to convert ammonium ions into ammonia gas. The ammonia gas passes through a hydrophobic membrane and is absorbed by the internal filling solution, causing a pH change, which is detected by the electrode and converted into ammonia nitrogen concentration. This method has strong anti-interference ability and is suitable for complex water quality.
Key Technical Parameters
| Item | Parameter |
|---|---|

Installation and Wiring Steps
Installation Location Selection
- Keep away from strong vibration and strong electromagnetic interference sources
- Ambient temperature 5~45℃, humidity ≤90% RH
- Ensure the sample flow path is unobstructed and drainage has no back pressure
Electrical Wiring
- Open the front cover of the instrument to expose the terminal block.
- Connect the power cord according to the markings (AC 220V or DC 24V, depending on the model).
- Connect the 4-20mA output to PLC or recorder.
- Connect the RS485 A/B wires to the host computer, ensuring the shielding layer is grounded at one end.
- After checking, power on and observe whether the display lights up normally.
Calibration and Daily Maintenance
Calibration Operation
It is recommended to calibrate once every 1~2 weeks. Use standard solutions for two-point calibration: first zero calibration (deionized water), then span calibration (standard solution of known concentration). See Chapter 4 of the manual for specific steps.
Maintenance Points
- Regularly replace the peristaltic pump tube (recommended every 3 months)
- Check the ammonia gas sensing electrode internal filling solution and replenish in time
- Clean the reaction cell and tubing to prevent crystallization blockage
- Check whether the hydrophobic membrane is damaged or contaminated
Common Faults and Troubleshooting
| Fault Symptom | Possible Cause | Troubleshooting Method |
|---|---|---|
| High measurement value | Electrode aging or membrane contamination | Replace electrode or clean membrane |
| Low measurement value | Insufficient alkali solution or pump tube blockage | Replenish alkali solution, replace pump tube |
| No output signal | Loose wiring or blown fuse | Check wiring, replace fuse |
If the fault cannot be resolved, please refer to the fault code table in the CA80NO Chinese Manual or contact the manufacturer's technical support.
Summary
CA80NO online analyzer is a reliable choice for ammonia nitrogen monitoring. Correct installation, regular calibration, and maintenance are key to ensuring long-term stable operation. Operators are advised to read the Chinese manual in detail and keep the PDF document for reference.
