Installation Steps
Correct installation is the prerequisite for ensuring the measurement accuracy of the PMP21. Please follow the steps below.
- Confirm that the pipeline or vessel has been depressurized, and close the valve.
- According to the process connection specification, screw the transmitter into the installation point and use a suitable sealing gasket.
- Tighten with a wrench, avoiding excessive force that may damage the threads.
- Connect the cable, paying attention to the correspondence between power polarity and signal wires.
- Check all connections for leaks, then slowly open the valve.
Note: During installation, avoid subjecting the transmitter to excessive mechanical stress or vibration.
Commissioning and Calibration
The PMP21 has been calibrated at the factory. If on-site adjustment is required, refer to the following methods.
Zero Calibration
- Under no pressure, enter the calibration menu via the HART communicator or local buttons.
- Select "Zero Calibration" and confirm; the transmitter will automatically set the current pressure to 0.
Span Calibration
- Apply a known standard pressure (e.g., 50% of full scale).
- Enter the "Span Calibration" menu, input the standard pressure value, and confirm to complete.
It is recommended to calibrate at least once a year, or shorten the cycle according to working conditions.
Common Problems and Solutions
The following lists common faults and troubleshooting methods during the use of the PMP21.
| Symptom | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No output signal | Power reversed or open circuit | Check power polarity and wiring |
| Large output fluctuation | Medium pulsation or interference | Add damping or shielded cable |
| Measurement value deviation | Zero drift or blockage | Recalibrate or clean the impulse line |
| Communication failure | Address conflict or wiring error | Check HART/RS485 settings |
Maintenance and Care
Regular maintenance can extend the service life of the PMP21.
- Check the appearance and wiring for looseness every month.
- Check the aging of seals every six months.
- Perform a comprehensive calibration once a year.
- Avoid contact with corrosive media; install an isolation diaphragm if necessary.
If any abnormality is found, please contact the manufacturer or authorized service provider in a timely manner.
