Installation Steps

Correct installation is the prerequisite for ensuring the measurement accuracy of the FMB53. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Confirm that the pressure in the pipeline has been released and close the valve.
  2. According to the process connection specification, install the transmitter to the measuring point and use a suitable gasket.
  3. Tighten the process connection and avoid excessive force that may damage the threads.
  4. Electrical connection: connect the power and signal lines according to the wiring diagram, paying attention to polarity.
  5. After checking that all connections are correct, slowly open the valve and observe for leakage.

Commissioning and Calibration

The FMB53 supports local button and HART communicator commissioning. The basic steps are as follows.

  • After power-on, wait for the transmitter self-check to complete.
  • Use the HART communicator or buttons to enter the parameter setting menu.
  • Set the upper and lower range limits, damping time, output mode, etc.
  • Perform zero calibration: under no pressure, execute zero fine adjustment.
  • If necessary, perform full-scale calibration.

Common Problems and Handling

The following problems may be encountered during use and can be referred to for troubleshooting.

  • No output signal: Check whether the power supply is normal and whether the wiring is correct.
  • Large output fluctuation: Check the damping setting, whether the medium is pulsating, and whether the grounding is good.
  • Large measurement deviation: Recalibrate the zero point and full scale, and check the installation position.
  • Communication failure: Check whether the HART loop resistance is ≥250Ω and whether the communication cable is shielded.

Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance can extend the service life of the FMB53. It is recommended to check the sealing performance and electrical connections every six months. Avoid long-term use under over-range pressure. When cleaning, use a soft cloth dipped in neutral detergent, and do not use corrosive solvents.

Selection Guide

When selecting, the following parameters need to be clarified:

  • Measuring range: Select according to the actual maximum pressure, and it is recommended to leave a 20% margin.
  • Output signal: Select 4-20mA, HART, or RS485 according to the control system interface.
  • Accuracy class: Select according to process requirements.
  • Process connection: Match the on-site pipeline interface.
  • Protection rating: Select IP65 or IP67 according to environmental conditions.
