The assembly is connected to the process pipeline through a ball valve or gate valve, and uses sealing rings and a flushing chamber structure to ensure that the medium does not leak during sensor movement. When the sensor is in the measuring position, the process seal isolates the external environment; when maintenance is required, the sensor can be retracted into the flushing chamber for online cleaning or calibration.

Sensor Installation Steps

  1. Check components: Confirm that the assembly, sealing rings, O-rings, and connecting flange are intact.
  2. Close the process connection: Close the ball valve, ensure there is no pressure in the pipeline, and drain any residual medium.
  3. Install the assembly: Connect the CPA871 flange to the pipeline ball valve, and tighten the bolts evenly to avoid misalignment.
  4. Insert the sensor: Insert the sensor into the assembly guide tube until it reaches the measuring position, and tighten the fixing nut.
  5. Open the ball valve: Slowly open the ball valve so that the sensor contacts the process medium, and check for leaks.
  6. Connect air supply/manual operation: For the pneumatic type, connect compressed air; for the manual type, drive it through the handle.

After installation is completed, a leak test and function test are required to ensure smooth sensor movement and reliable sealing.

Normal Operation

  • During measurement, ensure the sensor is fully immersed in the process medium to avoid bubble interference.
  • Before cleaning or calibration, first retract the sensor into the flushing chamber, and close the ball valve to isolate the process.
  • Use the flushing port to introduce cleaning liquid and remove dirt from the sensor surface.
  • After calibration is completed, reinsert the sensor to the measuring position and open the ball valve.

Maintenance Recommendations

  • Regularly inspect the sealing rings and O-rings; replacement every 6 months is recommended.
  • Check whether the pneumatic actuator operates smoothly and whether there is jamming.
  • Clean the guide tube to prevent medium crystallization from causing difficulty in sensor movement.
