Cleanfit CPA450 Safety Kit Retrofit and Operation Overview

Cleanfit CPA450 is a retractable assembly widely used in the process industry for online installation of pH, ORP, and other sensors. The retrofit and proper operation of its safety kit are directly related to personnel safety and measurement reliability. This article is intended for engineering technicians and procurement personnel, systematically introducing retrofit steps and operating specifications.

Preparation Before Retrofit

Tools and Materials List

  • Cleanfit CPA450 dedicated safety kit (including seals, locking ring, fixing screws)
  • Hex wrench, torque wrench
  • Cleaning cloth, lubricating grease (compatible with the medium)
  • Product manual and safety data sheet

Safety Precautions

  • Ensure the process pipeline has been depressurized, drained, and cooled to a safe temperature.
  • Disconnect the power or signal lines connected to the assembly to prevent accidental operation.
  • Wear protective glasses and gloves to avoid contact with residual medium.

Safety Kit Retrofit Steps

Removing the Old Kit

  1. Loosen and remove the fixing screws on the assembly, and detach the old safety kit.
  2. Check the sealing surface for scratches or corrosion, and clean or replace if necessary.

Installing the New Safety Kit

  1. Apply a thin layer of lubricating grease to the sealing ring and install it into the sealing groove.
  2. Align the new safety kit with the assembly body and press it evenly into place.
  3. Tighten the fixing screws in a diagonal sequence. Recommended torque is shown in the table below.
  4. Manually test the retractable rod movement to ensure there is no jamming.

Assembly Operation Specifications

Normal Operating Procedure

  • Confirm that the process pressure is within the allowable range (see nameplate).
  • Operate the retractable rod slowly to avoid impact.
  • Regularly check whether the safety kit leaks or is loose.

Maintenance and Inspection Cycle

Common Problems and Solutions

  • Leakage: Check whether the sealing ring is damaged or the screws are not tightened.
  • Jamming movement: Clean the retractable rod and apply an appropriate amount of lubricating grease.
  • Loose safety kit: Retighten according to the recommended torque.

Following the above retrofit and operation specifications can significantly improve the reliability and service life of the Cleanfit CPA450, ensuring process measurement safety.
