5PBB Technical Parameters and Model Selection
Main Technical Parameters
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Measuring range | 0~0.1MPa to 0~100MPa (optional) |
| Output signal | 4~20mA, 0~10V, RS485 (optional) |
| Power supply | 12~36VDC (typically 24VDC) |
| Accuracy class | ±0.5%FS, ±0.2%FS (optional) |
| Process connection | M20×1.5, G1/2, NPT1/2, etc. |
| Protection class | IP65/IP67 |
Model Selection Notes
- Select the range according to the actual pressure range. It is recommended that the working pressure be between 1/3 and 2/3 of the range.
- Confirm medium compatibility and select the appropriate process connection material (such as 304, 316L).
- Select the output signal type according to control system requirements.
- Special environments (high temperature, corrosion, explosion-proof) must be noted so that the corresponding model can be selected.
Installation and Wiring Guide
Installation Steps
- Check whether the transmitter appearance is intact and confirm that the model and range meet the requirements.
- Select a suitable installation point on the pipeline or vessel and ensure good sealing.
- Use a wrench to tighten the process connection and avoid excessive force that may damage the threads.
- After installation, check for leakage and tighten if necessary.
Electrical Wiring
- Open the rear cover of the transmitter and wire according to the terminal markings: power positive (+), power negative (-), signal output.
- Shielded cable is recommended, with the shield grounded at one end to reduce interference.
- After wiring is completed, tighten the rear cover to ensure the protection class.
Calibration and Maintenance
Calibration Method
The 5PBB has been calibrated before leaving the factory. If calibration is needed after long-term use, proceed as follows:
- Power on and warm up for 15 minutes.
- Under zero pressure, adjust the zero potentiometer so that the output is 4mA (or 0V).
- Apply full-scale pressure and adjust the span potentiometer so that the output is 20mA (or 10V).
- Repeat steps 2 to 3 above 2~3 times until the error meets the accuracy requirements.
Routine Maintenance
- Regularly check the process connection for leakage and corrosion.
- Keep the transmitter housing clean to avoid dust accumulation affecting heat dissipation.
- Pay attention to lightning protection during thunderstorm seasons; installing a surge protector is recommended.
- If abnormal output is found, first check whether the power supply, wiring, and medium pressure are normal.
Common Faults and Handling
| Fault Symptom | Possible Cause | Handling Method |
|---|---|---|
| No output | Power not connected, incorrect wiring | Check power supply and wiring |
| Output too low | Insufficient pressure, sensor blockage | Check pressure source, clean sensor |
| Output fluctuation | Interference, medium pulsation | Add filtering, install damping |
| Zero drift | Temperature change, aging | Recalibrate or replace |
Summary
The 5PBB pressure transmitter, with its high precision and reliability, is an ideal choice for industrial pressure measurement. Correct model selection, installation, and maintenance are key to ensuring long-term stable operation.
