Installation and Wiring Steps

Correct installation is the prerequisite for ensuring measurement accuracy. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Fix the CA80PH transmitter on a stable, vibration-free bracket, avoiding direct sunlight.
  2. Connect the pH electrode, paying attention to grounding the cable shield to reduce electromagnetic interference.
  3. Connect the power supply (24 VDC or 220 VAC, depending on the model) and confirm the polarity is correct.
  4. Connect the output signal line to the PLC or recorder, and check the 4~20 mA loop.
  5. After power-on, observe the display. If the display is abnormal, refer to the fault code table in the manual.

Operation and Calibration Points

Daily Operation

  • After power-on, wait 30 seconds until the reading stabilizes before recording.
  • Regularly check whether the electrode is contaminated. If necessary, wipe it with a soft cloth dipped in cleaning solution.
  • Avoid long-term exposure of the electrode to strong acid or strong alkali environments.

Calibration Process

It is recommended to perform two-point calibration every two weeks or after replacing the electrode.

  1. Prepare pH 4.00 and pH 7.00 standard buffer solutions.
  2. Immerse the electrode in pH 7.00 buffer solution, and confirm after the reading stabilizes.
  3. Clean the electrode, then immerse it in pH 4.00 buffer solution, and confirm after stabilization.
  4. After calibration, check that the slope should be between 95% and 105%.

Common Problems and Maintenance

The following lists common problems encountered by users and handling suggestions.

  • Reading drift: Check whether the electrode is aged or the cable connector is damp.
  • No display: Confirm the power supply voltage and fuse.
  • Calibration failure: Replace the buffer solution or clean the electrode.

Regular maintenance can extend the service life of the CA80PH. It is recommended to replace the electrode filling solution once every quarter.
