Selection Points

1. Measuring Range and Overload

Select the range according to the actual maximum working pressure. It is recommended to reserve more than 20% margin. The overload capacity of the VEGABAR 81 can reach twice the range.

2. Process Connection and Material

  • Thread connection: G1/2, G1, NPT, etc.
  • Flange connection: DN25 ~ DN100
  • Wetted materials: stainless steel 316L, Hastelloy, ceramics

3. Output and Communication

The standard output is 4~20 mA, with optional HART protocol. If on-site display is required, a version with a display head is available.

Installation and Commissioning Steps

Correct installation is the prerequisite for ensuring measurement accuracy. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Confirm that the process connection matches the pipeline interface and install the sealing gasket.
  2. Screw in or flange-mount the transmitter, avoiding over-tightening.
  3. Wiring: connect the positive power supply to +, the signal line to -, and ground the shield.
  4. After power-on, use a HART handheld communicator or VEGA adjustment software to perform zero calibration.
  5. Set the upper and lower range limits and check whether the output current corresponds.

Common Faults and Handling

  • No output signal: Check whether the power supply voltage is between 12~36 V DC and whether the wiring is loose.
  • Large output current deviation: Recalibrate the zero point and range, and check whether the process pressure is stable.
  • Fluctuating display value: Confirm the damping setting and check whether the medium is pulsating or the pipeline is vibrating.
  • Communication failure: Check whether the HART loop resistance is ≥ 250 Ω.
