Installation and Wiring Points

Mechanical Installation

  • The installation location should avoid strong vibration and direct impact from corrosive media.
  • For liquid measurement, the pressure tap should be opened on the side of the pipe to prevent sediment accumulation.
  • For gas measurement, the pressure tap should be opened at the top of the pipe to prevent condensate accumulation.
  • Ensure the process connection is well sealed; PTFE gaskets are recommended.

Electrical Wiring

  1. Open the rear cover of the transmitter to expose the terminal block.
  2. Connect the positive power supply to the “+” terminal and the negative to the “-” terminal.
  3. If using a HART communicator, a resistor of ≥250Ω must be connected in series in the loop.
  4. After wiring, tighten the rear cover to ensure the protection rating.

Note: It is strictly prohibited to open the terminal compartment while powered. In intrinsically safe applications, explosion-proof regulations must be followed.

HART Configuration and Commissioning

The PMP43 HART version supports parameter setting via a HART communicator or PC configuration software. Common operations include range adjustment, unit switching, damping setting, and sensor trim.

  • Range Adjustment: The pressure values corresponding to 4mA and 20mA can be set, supporting remote calibration.
  • Unit Switching: Supports common units such as kPa, MPa, bar, psi, etc.
  • Damping Setting: Adjustable from 0 to 60 seconds to suppress output fluctuations.
  • Sensor Trim: Corrects zero offset caused by on-site installation angle.

After commissioning, it is recommended to record and back up the configuration parameters for future maintenance.

Common Faults and Troubleshooting

Fault SymptomPossible CauseTroubleshooting Method
No output signalPower reversed or open circuitCheck supply voltage and circuit continuity
Output too high/lowZero drift or incorrect range settingRecalibrate zero and range
HART communication failureInsufficient loop resistance or interferenceAdd 250Ω resistor, check shield grounding
Large display fluctuationDamping too low or medium pulsationIncrease damping time, install buffer device
