pH value is a key indicator for measuring the acidity and alkalinity of a solution and plays an important role in fields such as chemical engineering, water treatment, food and beverage, and environmental protection. Connection and Wiring Steps

Transmitter Power Wiring

  1. Place the CM442 transmitter flat on the desktop, unscrew the screws at the four corners, and open the display unit board 180°.
  2. According to the schematic diagram, connect the live wire (L/phase line) to the terminal marked "L" in the POWER area on the basic module BASE2-E.
  3. Connect the neutral wire (N/neutral line) to the terminal marked "N" in the POWER area.

Digital Electrode Cable Connection

  1. Strip the outer insulation layer of the digital cable CYK10 to expose the four core wires inside.
  2. Since the CPS11D glass electrode sensor does not have an additional internal power supply, according to the schematic diagram, connect the sensor cable in the order of "brown-white-green-yellow" to terminals "98-97-88-87" respectively.
  3. Align the Memosens connector with the pins on the sensor and rotate it a certain angle to lock it tightly.
  4. After all connections are completed, carefully check the correctness of the wiring and the reliability of the fastening to ensure there is no short circuit, no looseness, and no damaged or exposed cables.

CM442 Basic Operation

Operating Interface Overview

The CM442 operating keypad consists of four buttons and one jog dial. The specific functions are as follows:

  • MENU key: Used for system settings and parameter configuration.
  • CAL key: Enters the calibration function to simplify the calibration process.
  • DIAG key: Accesses diagnostic information to view device status and fault codes.
  • ? key: Provides context-sensitive help information for guidance at any time during operation.
  • Jog dial: Rotate to browse menu options, press to confirm selection.

Power-on Self-test

Power on the CM442. The device enters the "measurement interface" by default, and the display shows the current pH value, temperature value, channel number, and status indicator light. If the indicator light is red, check whether there was an error in previous operation or incorrect configuration.

Configure Input Channel

  1. Press the "MENU" key to enter the main menu, and use the jog dial to find and select the "Input" or "Sensor settings" option.
  2. Select the connected physical channel CH1.
  3. In the channel settings, ensure that the transmitter has correctly automatically recognized the CPS11D pH electrode. If not, you may need to manually select the sensor type as "pH glass" or a similar option.
  4. Set parameters such as the measurement range 0-14 and temperature unit °C according to the actual situation.

Configure Output Channel

  1. Return to the main menu, find and enter "Output" or "Output settings".
  2. Select the current output channel OUT1 you want to configure.
  3. Set the output type to "4-20mA".
  4. Key step: Set the pH value range corresponding to this current output, setting 4mA corresponding to 0pH, 20mA corresponding to 14pH. In this way, the output current will linearly reflect the entire pH measurement range.

Electrode Calibration (Two-point Calibration)

  1. Enter "Menu → Calibration → pH" and select "Two-point calibration".
  2. Follow the menu prompts and use two standard solutions with different pH values for calibration in sequence.
  3. During the calibration process, the transmitter will automatically recognize and calculate the relevant parameters.
  4. After successful calibration, the slope and zero point will be displayed, and you will be asked whether to adjust the calibration data; if calibration fails, you will be prompted whether to calibrate again.

Perform Measurement

  1. After all configuration settings are completed, gently wipe the electrode clean.
  2. Immerse the electrode in the sample to be measured and stir gently to make it uniform.
  3. Wait for the pH reading to stabilize on the CM442 main interface, then record the measurement value.
