Field of application
The Promass U 500 is the ideal single-use flowmeter for biopharmaceutical applications in the life sciences industry. It represents the response to the shift from multi-purpose equipment to single-use equipment and from batch to continuous manufacturing. The Promass U 500 provides multivariable measurement with higher reliability and accuracy and complies with cGMP. The flowmeter is particularly suitable for upstream and downstream applications in monoclonal antibody (mAb) processes.
The sensor comprises a single-use part (available in four tube sizes) and a permanently installed base unit that fits all tube sizes. Heartbeat Technology automatically identifies the flow range after installation and verifies the validity of the factory calibration. This simplifies commissioning and eliminates on-site calibration. The transmitter is equipped with a built-in web server, WLAN and up to 4 I/Os, is easy to operate and provides additional process and device information.
