Promag-10 Electromagnetic Flowmeter Basic Commissioning Instructions
This article introduces the basic commissioning steps of the Promag-10 electromagnetic flowmeter, including function key operations, unit setting, range setting, and process parameter setting. It is intended for reference by engineering and technical personnel and procurement personnel.
Function Key Description
The operation interface has three keys: "+", "-", and "E".
- "+" and "-": Used to switch menus up and down, or to modify values in the numerical input interface. When a digit is shaded, pressing "+" or "-" once makes the shading disappear and a cursor appears; at this point the current value can be modified (e.g., pressing "+" on the digit "1" changes it to "2").
- "E": Confirmation key, used to enter menus or confirm values. When entering multiple digits (e.g., "178"), first enter the first digit "1" and press "E" to confirm, then enter the second digit "7" and press "E", and finally enter the third digit "8" and press "E" to confirm.
- Pressing "+" and "-" simultaneously: Return key. If you accidentally enter the wrong menu, pressing it multiple times returns to the main measurement interface, allowing you to re-enter the correct menu.
Unit Setting
After the instrument is powered on, it enters measurement mode. Press "E" to enter the function menu.
- Press "E" to confirm and set the system unit. Press "+" or "-" to enter password "10", then press "E" to confirm.
- Press "+" or "-" to modify the instantaneous volume flow unit, then press "E" to confirm.

- Press "E" to go to the next item, press "+" or "-" to modify the cumulative volume unit, and after modification press "E" to confirm.

- Press "+" and "-" simultaneously multiple times to exit to the function menu.

Range Setting
From the function menu, press "+" or "-" until "CURRENT OUTPUT" is displayed.
- Press "E" until "VALUE 20mA" is displayed, which is the value corresponding to 20mA. Press "+" or "-" to modify this value (it must match the host computer setting), then press "E" to confirm.

- Press "+" and "-" simultaneously to exit to the function menu.

Process Parameter Setting (Low Flow Cutoff and Empty Pipe Detection)
From the function menu, press "+" or "-" until "PROCESS PARAMETER" is displayed.
- Press "E" to enter process parameter setting, press "+" or "-" to set the "LOW FLOW CUT OFF" value (low flow cutoff value). It is recommended that the low flow cutoff value be 1% to 5% of the range.
- Press "E" to go to the next item "EPD" (empty pipe detection function), press "+" or "-" to select "EPD" as "ON", then press "E" to confirm.

- Press "+" and "-" simultaneously multiple times to exit to measurement mode.

After the above settings, the basic setup of the instrument is completed.
