FMP51 Product Overview
FMP51 is a guided wave radar level meter launched by Endress+Hauser, suitable for continuous level measurement of liquids and bulk solids. It adopts the time domain reflectometry (TDR) principle, with high measurement accuracy and is not affected by changes in medium density, temperature, or pressure.
This instrument is widely used in the chemical, petroleum, water treatment, and food industries. It supports 4-20mA HART, PROFIBUS PA, and other communication protocols, and can be seamlessly integrated into control systems.
Core Parameters and Selection Points
Key Performance Parameters
| Parameter | Typical Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Measuring range | 0~30m | Depends on probe type |
| Accuracy | ±2mm | Liquid measurement |
| Process temperature | -40~+200°C | High-temperature version up to +400°C |
| Process pressure | -1~+40bar | High-pressure version optional |
| Output signal | 4-20mA HART | PROFIBUS PA optional |
Selection Precautions
- Medium characteristics: When the dielectric constant is lower than 1.8, a cable probe must be selected.
- Process connection: Thread, flange, or hygienic clamp, selected according to the on-site interface.
- Explosion-proof requirements: For hazardous areas, intrinsically safe or flameproof types must be selected.
- Probe material: 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy, or PTFE coating.
Installation and Commissioning Steps
Installation Points
- Ensure the distance between the probe and the vessel wall is greater than 100mm to avoid false echoes.
- When installing the flange, the sealing surface must not be damaged. Refer to the manual for tightening torque.
- For agitated tanks, installation using a bypass pipe or stilling well is recommended.
Commissioning Process
- After power-on, connect via the local display module or FieldCare software.
- Enter parameters such as tank dimensions and medium dielectric constant.
- Perform empty tank calibration and full tank calibration.
- Check the echo curve and suppress interference echoes.
- Save parameters and record the commissioning report.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Regularly check the probe for scaling or wear. Avoid damaging the insulation layer during cleaning. Common faults include echo loss and measured value jumping. Refer to the diagnostic code table in the manual for handling.
If the problem persists, please contact Endress+Hauser technical support. Keeping the FMP51 Chinese manual can help quickly identify the cause of the fault.
