Installation and Wiring
Installation Steps
- Confirm that the installation interface on the pipe or vessel matches the sensor process connection.
- Wrap PTFE tape around the sensor threads or use a gasket to prevent leakage.
- Screw the sensor into the interface and tighten with a wrench, but avoid excessive force that may damage the electrode.
- Ensure the electrode is fully immersed in the medium and away from areas where bubbles and solid particles accumulate.
Wiring Instructions
- Power cable: usually 24 VDC, please refer to the nameplate marking.
- Signal cable: the 4~20 mA output requires a series load resistor (≤500 Ω).
- Shielded cable: single-end grounding is recommended to reduce electromagnetic interference.
- After wiring, check the polarity and confirm it is correct before powering on.
Commissioning and Calibration
After first use or electrode replacement, calibration is required to ensure measurement accuracy. The commonly used method is the standard solution calibration method.
- Prepare a standard solution with known conductivity (e.g., 0.01 mol/L KCl).
- Immerse the electrode in the standard solution and record the measured value after the temperature stabilizes.
- Enter the transmitter menu and perform cell constant calibration or zero calibration.
- Adjust according to the deviation and save the parameters.
- Verify with another standard solution; the error should be within the allowable range.
Maintenance and Care
- Regularly inspect the electrode surface; if there is contamination, clean it with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
- Avoid scratching the electrode with hard objects to prevent damage to the coating.
- When not in use for a long time, the electrode should be stored in a dry environment or soaked in a protective solution.
- Perform calibration every six months to one year to ensure measurement accuracy.
- If the measured value fluctuates abnormally, check the wiring, grounding, and medium condition.
