HART Communication Basics

HART bus uses Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) technology to superimpose digital signals on the 4-20mA loop, enabling remote configuration and diagnostics. TMT182B supports the HART 7 protocol and can be parameterized via a handheld communicator or PC software.

Configuration Steps

  1. Connect the transmitter to the loop and ensure the supply voltage is within the 12-45VDC range.
  2. Use a HART handheld communicator or FieldCare software to connect to the loop and establish communication.
  3. Select the sensor type (Pt100, Pt1000, thermocouple, etc.) and set the range and units.
