VEGACAP 63 Product Overview
VEGACAP 63 is a capacitive level switch launched by VEGA, mainly used for limit detection of solid particles and liquids. The instrument adopts the capacitive measurement principle and determines whether the material has reached the set position through the capacitance change between the probe and the container wall. Its structure is sturdy and its response is reliable, and it is widely used in chemical, building materials, food, and water treatment industries.
Working Principle and Core Advantages
Capacitive Measurement Principle
The probe and the container wall form a capacitor. When the material covers the probe, the dielectric constant changes, causing the capacitance value to change. The internal electronic module of VEGACAP 63 detects this change and outputs a switching signal.Capacitive measurement is not affected by material color, density, or conductivity, and has strong adaptability.
Main Technical Features
- Wide range of applicable media: It can measure solid particles, powders, and liquids, and can detect stably when the dielectric constant is >=1.5.
- Pressure and temperature resistance: Process pressure -1~+64 bar, process temperature -50~+200°C (depending on probe material).
- Multiple outputs: Relay, transistor, or NAMUR output, convenient for connecting to PLC or DCS systems.
- High protection rating: IP66/IP67, suitable for outdoor and humid environments.
- Flexible installation: Thread, flange, or clamp connection optional, and probe length can be customized.

Installation and Commissioning Points
Installation Steps
- Confirm that the container opening size matches the process connection specification, and prepare the sealing gasket.
- Install the probe vertically or horizontally on the container wall, ensuring that the probe extends into the container and does not contact the agitator.
- Tighten the process connection, paying attention to moderate torque to avoid damaging the insulation layer.
- When wiring, refer to the terminal diagram in the manual to ensure that the power supply and output circuit are correct.
- After power-on, observe the LED indicator and perform empty and full calibration.
Commissioning Precautions
- Empty calibration: When there is no material in the container, adjust the potentiometer or button so that the output is in the "uncovered" state.
- Full calibration: Add material until the probe is completely covered, and confirm that the output switches to the "covered" state.
- If the material has strong adhesion, it is recommended to use a probe with a shielding section or clean it regularly.
Selection and Procurement Suggestions
When purchasing VEGACAP 63, it is necessary to clarify the medium characteristics, process temperature and pressure, connection specifications, and output type. For corrosive media, PTFE or ceramic insulated probes should be selected. It is recommended to request the original Chinese manual, check the model code and certification certificates, and ensure compliance with on-site safety requirements.
