CPM253 Selection Table Overview
The CPM253 transmitter selection code consists of fields such as sensor input and software, power supply, output, additional contacts, and TAG. The original selection table is organized by 'Feature, Value, Description'; this article restructures it into tables by field for easy reference.
When selecting, combine the codes in field order and verify explosion protection, certifications, and software functions. Options marked with *** are usually related to ATEX explosion protection and require special confirmation.
1. Sensor Input and Software
| Code | Sensor Input / Software | Description |
|---|---|---|
| IS | pH (glass/ISFET) / ORP | Additional function |
| MR | Memosens digital, pH(glass/ISFET)ORP | Basic version |
| MS | Memosens digital, pH(glass/ISFET)ORP | Additional function |
| PR | pH (glass) / ORP | Basic version |
| PS | pH (glass) / ORP | Additional function |
Memosens is digital sensor technology; ISFET is suitable for conditions where glass electrodes are limited. The basic version meets routine measurement needs, while additional functions enhance diagnostics and software capabilities.
2. Power Supply Options
| Code | Power Supply Specification and Certification |
|---|---|
| A | ***24 V AC/DC; ATEX II (3)G (Ex nAL) IIC |
| 0 | 230VAC |
| 1 | 115VAC |
| 2 | 230VAC; CSA Gen.Purp. |
| 3 | 115VAC; CSA Gen.Purp. |
| 4 | ***230VAC; ATEX II (3)G (Ex nAL) IIC |
| 5 | 100VAC |
| 6 | ***24V AC/DC;ATEX II 3G EEx nA(L) IIC T4 |
| 7 | 24V AC/DC; CSA Gen.Purp. |
| 8 | 24V AC/DC |
The power supply code determines the supply voltage and area certification. Options A, 4, and 6 marked with *** involve ATEX explosion protection and should be selected according to the hazardous area classification. CSA Gen.Purp. indicates general-purpose certification.
3. Output Options
| Code | Output Type |
|---|---|
| 0 | 1x 0/4...20mA, basic value |
| 1 | 2x 0/4...20mA, basic value + additional value |
| 3 | Profibus PA |
| 4 | Profibus DP |
| 5 | 1x 0/4...20mA, basic value, HART |
| 6 | 2x 0/4...20mA, basic value, HART + additional value |
Analog outputs are suitable for conventional PLC/DCS; HART can superimpose digital communication on 4...20mA; Profibus PA/DP is used for fieldbus systems. Dual-channel output is suitable for applications requiring a second measured value or temperature compensation.
4. Additional Contacts and Inputs
| Code | Additional Contact / Input Function |
|---|---|
| 05 | Not selected |
| 10 | 2x relay (limit/P(ID)/timer) |
| 15 | 4x relay (limit/P(ID)/chemical cleaning) |
| 16 | 4x relay (limit/P(ID)/timer) |
| 20 | 1x 4...20mA input + 2x relay (timer/limit/P(ID)) |
| 25 | 1x4...20mA input + 4x relay (chemical cleaning/limit/P(ID)) /P(ID) |
| 26 | 1x 4...20mA input + 4x relay (timer/limit/P(ID)) |
Additional contacts are used for limit alarms, P(ID) control, timing, and chemical cleaning. If an external 4...20mA input is required, choose 20, 25, or 26, and select according to the number of relays.
5. Tag
The original is marked as >>>TAG, corresponding to code 1: TAG, see additional notes. Selecting this code provides tag identification, facilitating on-site asset management and drawing correspondence.
6. CPM253 Selection Steps
- Determine the sensor type and software functions: choose IS, MR, MS, PR, or PS.
- Select the power supply code according to power supply and explosion protection requirements: A, 0–8.
- Select the output code according to the control system interface: 0, 1, 3, 4, 5, 6.
- Select the additional contact code according to alarm, cleaning, and P(ID) control requirements: 05, 10, 15, 16, 20, 25, 26.
- If tag identification is needed, select code 1 and verify the additional notes.
The final model is formed by combining the codes of each field in order. After selection, it is recommended to verify explosion-proof certification, software functions, and relay configuration with the supplier to ensure consistency with on-site conditions.
