FMR62 Product Overview
FMR62 is an 80GHz radar level meter launched by Endress+Hauser (E+H). It adopts a non-contact measurement principle and is suitable for liquid and solid level measurement. Its core advantages include high precision, small beam angle, and strong anti-interference capability.
Main Technical Parameters
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Measurement principle | 80GHz frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) |
| Measurement range | Maximum 40 meters (liquid), maximum 30 meters (solid) |
| Measurement accuracy | ±1mm |
| Process temperature | -40°C ~ +200°C |
| Process pressure | -1 ~ +40 bar |
| Output signal | 4-20mA HART / PROFIBUS PA / FOUNDATION Fieldbus |
| Protection class | IP66/67, NEMA 4X |
Selection Points
Correct selection is the prerequisite for ensuring the stable operation of FMR62. Attention should be paid to the following aspects:
- Process connection: Select according to on-site flange standards (such as DN50 PN16, ANSI 2" 150lb).
- Antenna type: PTFE horn antenna is standard; fully sealed antenna is optional for corrosive media.
- Output mode: Select 4-20mA HART or bus protocol according to the control system.
- Certification requirements: Intrinsically safe or explosion-proof type is required for hazardous areas.
Installation and Commissioning Steps
Please strictly follow the steps below to ensure measurement accuracy:
- Confirm the installation position: avoid interference sources such as feed inlets and agitators, and keep the antenna perpendicular to the material surface.
- Fix the instrument: use a suitable flange or threaded connection to ensure good sealing.
- Electrical connection: connect the power and signal lines according to the wiring diagram in the manual, and pay attention to polarity.
- Power-on initialization: after the instrument self-check, set parameters through the local display or commissioning software.
- Empty tank calibration: perform empty spectrum suppression of false echoes in an empty tank state.
- Full tank calibration: input the actual level value to complete full span calibration.
Common Problems and Maintenance
- Fluctuating measured value: check for condensation, buildup, or agitation interference, and enable the echo threshold function.
- No signal output: confirm whether the supply voltage and loop resistance are normal.
- Regular maintenance: check antenna cleanliness every six months, and wipe with a soft cloth if necessary.
