Basic Operation Settings for Mass Flowmeter 8F2B

The mass flowmeter 8F2B is an instrument widely used in industrial process control. Correct operation settings are the prerequisite for ensuring its measurement accuracy and stable operation. This article introduces its basic setup process step by step to help engineering technicians and procurement personnel get started quickly.

1. Two-wire Connection

The 8F2B uses a two-wire connection method. Before wiring, be sure to refer to the voltage requirements marked on the instrument nameplate. Correct wiring is the first step for the instrument to work properly.

  • Terminal 1: Connect to the positive pole of the power supply
  • Terminal 2: Connect to the negative pole of the power supply

The specific wiring diagram is as follows:

2. Language Selection

After power-on, press the E key to enter the menu. In the Language menu, users can select the interface language as needed, which facilitates subsequent operations.

3. Medium and Unit Settings

In the settings menu, users can modify the flow medium type and configure system units. These settings directly affect the display and output of measurement results.

  • Medium type: gas or liquid
  • System units: mass flow unit, mass unit, volume flow unit, volume unit, total flow unit

The settings interface is shown in the following figure:

4. Current Output Settings

The current output of the 8F2B is 4-20 mA by default. After pressing the E key to enter, the flow values corresponding to 4 mA and 20 mA can be set separately, thereby achieving a linear correspondence between the current signal and the flow value.

The current output settings interface is as follows:

5. Display Settings

In the display settings, users can select multiple display values, and each display value can correspond to a different flow unit. For example:

  • Display 1: mass flow
  • Display 2: volume flow
  • Display 3: total flow

In this way, multiple flow data can be monitored simultaneously on the same screen, improving operational efficiency.
