TMT82 Temperature Transmitter Wiring Overview

The TMT82 temperature transmitter adopts a modular installation design and supports a variety of temperature sensor inputs. Correct wiring is the prerequisite for ensuring measurement accuracy and stable operation. This article introduces its wiring methods by type.

Thermocouple Wiring Method

The thermocouple signal is a millivolt-level voltage and must be connected using dedicated compensation wires. The terminal definitions of the TMT82 are as follows:

  • Positive (+): connect to terminal 5
  • Negative (-): connect to terminal 6

Please ensure the polarity is correct, otherwise the measured value will be reversed. After wiring is completed, check whether the terminals are tightened.

RTD Wiring Method

RTDs are divided into 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire types according to the number of lead wires. The wiring methods differ, and the accuracy increases in sequence.

2-Wire RTD

  • One end connects to terminal 4
  • The other end connects to terminal 6

The 2-wire connection is simple, but the lead resistance will introduce errors, making it suitable for occasions with low accuracy requirements.

3-Wire RTD

  • One end connects to terminal 4
  • The other end connects to terminal 5 and terminal 6 (they need to be shorted or connected separately)

The 3-wire connection can compensate for lead resistance and is the most commonly used connection method in industrial sites.

4-Wire RTD

  • One end connects to terminal 3 and terminal 4
  • The other end connects to terminal 5 and terminal 6

The 4-wire connection completely eliminates the effect of lead resistance and is suitable for high-precision measurement.

Wiring Precautions

  • Be sure to disconnect the power supply before wiring to ensure safety.
  • Use shielded cables, with the shielding layer grounded at one end.
  • Avoid laying cables parallel to power cables to reduce interference.
  • After wiring, check whether the terminals are loose and conduct a power-on test.
