TMT180 Temperature Transmitter Wiring Overview

TMT180 is a transmitter dedicated to RTD temperature measurement and does not support thermocouples. Its wiring method is simple, but a strict distinction must be made between 2-wire and 4-wire RTDs. Correct wiring is the prerequisite for ensuring measurement accuracy and stability.

Power Supply Wiring

The TMT180 uses 2-wire power supply, with a supply voltage range of 10-35 VDC. Connect the positive power supply to terminal 1 and the negative to terminal 2. Please ensure correct power supply polarity to avoid damaging the transmitter.

RTD Wiring Methods

Depending on the RTD type, the TMT180 supports both 2-wire and 4-wire wiring methods. They are described separately below.

2-Wire RTD Wiring

2-wire RTD wiring is divided into two cases:

  • Standard 2-wire: Connect one end of the RTD to terminal 3 and the other end to terminal 6.
  • 3-wire compensated 2-wire: Connect one end of the RTD to terminal 3, and connect the two wires at the other end to terminals 5 and 6 respectively. This method can compensate for lead resistance and improve accuracy.

4-Wire RTD Wiring

A 4-wire RTD can completely eliminate the effect of lead resistance. The wiring is as follows:

  1. Connect the two wires at one end of the RTD to terminals 3 and 4 respectively.
  2. Connect the two wires at the other end of the RTD to terminals 5 and 6 respectively.

Please ensure that the two wires at each end correspond correctly to avoid reversed connections.

Wiring Precautions

  • It is strictly prohibited to connect a thermocouple to the TMT180; otherwise, it may cause measurement errors or equipment damage.
  • Before wiring, please confirm that the power supply voltage is within the 10-35 VDC range.
  • Use shielded cables and single-point grounding to reduce electromagnetic interference.
  • Ensure terminal screws are tightened to avoid poor contact.

Summary

The TMT180 wiring is simple, but attention must be paid to the correspondence between the RTD type and terminals. Correct wiring ensures accurate and reliable temperature measurement. For more information, please refer to the product manual.
