TMT184 Temperature Transmitter Wiring Overview

The TMT184 is a temperature transmitter that supports the Profibus bus. Its power is supplied by the Profibus bus, requiring no additional power supply. Correct wiring is the key to ensuring measurement accuracy and stable communication. Power and Bus Connection

The TMT184 uses a two-wire bus power supply, with power and communication sharing the same pair of wires. The terminal definitions are as follows:

  • 1+: Profibus bus positive (power +)
  • 2-: Profibus bus negative (power -)

When connecting, ensure the bus polarity is correct and follow the Profibus network topology specifications.

Sensor Wiring Methods

The TMT184 can be connected to thermocouples or resistance thermometers. Different sensor types correspond to different terminal connection methods. Please select the correct wiring according to the actual sensor type.

Thermocouple Wiring

The thermocouple signal is connected to terminals 4+ and 6-. Note the thermocouple polarity: the positive pole connects to 4, and the negative pole connects to 6.

Resistance Thermometer Wiring

Resistance thermometers support 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire configurations. The wiring methods are as follows:

  • 2-wire resistance thermometer: Connect to terminals 3 and 6.
  • 3-wire resistance thermometer: One end connects to 3, and the two wires at the other end connect to 5 and 6 respectively.
  • 4-wire resistance thermometer: The two wires at one end connect to 3 and 4, and the two wires at the other end connect to 5 and 6.

Wiring Precautions

  • Before wiring, confirm that the bus power supply is turned off to avoid short circuits or equipment damage.
  • Use shielded cables and ensure the shield is grounded at one end only to improve interference resistance.
